There's a house in Niceville that families keep coming back to. Six bedrooms, seven beds, sleeps twelve, a fenced backyard with a fire pit, a game room upstairs, and countertops that glow like the Gulf of Mexico at dusk. It's one bridge from Destin and fifteen minutes from Crystal Beach without the Crystal Beach price tag. That house is 253 Olde Post Road. And it's yours.
Some vacations are about the destination. This one is about the house.
Pull up to 253 Olde Post Road and you'll know immediately this is the kind of place where people actually gather. Where the kitchen smells like something good is happening. Where the kids disappear upstairs and you don't hear from them for an hour. Where someone always claims a king bed first and nobody argues about it for long.
There are six bedrooms and seven beds, so whether you're two families sharing a trip, a big extended crew, or a group that just outgrew every other rental you looked at, this place was built for you. Two kings for the grown-ups who earned them. Two queens. A full. And a bunk bed room that will immediately start a negotiation you will not be asked to referee. The whole group sleeps twelve, and every bedroom is on the ground floor, which means no one's hauling luggage up stairs and grandma doesn't have to pick a bad bedroom.
The kitchen is where it all starts. Brand new appliances, every one of them. Induction stove, a see-through LG refrigerator so no one opens it eight times asking what's inside, an LG air fryer, and custom blue epoxy countertops throughout the whole house that glow in the dark, inspired by the Gulf water just fifteen minutes away. You can make a proper vacation meal here. Breakfast for twelve. Late night snacks after the fire pit. All of it.
The backyard is fenced and wide open. A covered patio for when the Florida sun reminds you who's in charge. A fire pit for the nights when nobody wants to go inside. Grass for the kids to run. Room for everyone at once.
Upstairs, the game room has its own mini-split so it stays comfortable all day. Foosball, board games, a big TV. It's where the kids go after dinner, where the teens disappear after dark, and where you'll eventually wander up to check on everyone and end up playing three more rounds than you planned.
There's also a baby station tucked in the kitchen closet. Pack and play, a camera, everything you need. You didn't forget something. It's already here.
Now about the location. You're in Niceville, which means you have something rare: a real neighborhood, a safe quiet street, and a $4 toll bridge that changes everything. Cross the Mid Bay Bridge and you're in Destin in fifteen minutes. Crystal Beach? Same bridge, same fifteen minutes. Okaloosa Island is about thirty minutes. You're not far from anything that matters on the Emerald Coast. You're just not paying Crystal Beach prices to get there. And if water is your thing beyond the beach, there are four boat launches within easy reach. There's even a 50-amp RV plug on the side of the house and room to park a boat. This is that kind of house.
The Maytag washer and dryer are in-unit. Every window is tinted. The front door has a smart lock so you arrive on your schedule, not ours. The master suite has a double vanity, a soaking tub, a separate shower, a private toilet room, and a patio door that opens straight to the backyard for those mornings when coffee outside is the only right answer.
We ask that you treat this house the way you'd want someone to treat yours. No pets. No parties. Quiet hours after ten. Three-night minimum because one night is never enough.
Years from now they won't remember what was on the game room TV.
They'll remember who won at foosball.
They'll remember the fire pit.
They'll remember those countertops glowing blue in the dark kitchen at midnight, when everyone should have been asleep, and someone made one more snack anyway.
That's The Olde Post House.
Niceville is one of those towns people discover by accident and then keep coming back to on purpose. 253 Olde Post Road sits on a quiet, safe street close to grocery stores, restaurants, and four nearby boat launches. The Mid Bay Bridge is your shortcut to everything: $4 toll each way puts you in Destin in 15 minutes, at Crystal Beach in 15, and at Okaloosa Island in about 30. You get the Emerald Coast experience without the Emerald Coast price. Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field are also just a short drive away for military families and contractors.

The countertops glow in the dark. We say this upfront because someone always discovers it at midnight and we want you to enjoy it, not be startled by it. Custom Gulf-blue epoxy throughout the whole house, inspired by the water fifteen minutes away.
Every window in the house is tinted, which keeps it cooler and gives you privacy without having to close every blind.
The game room upstairs has its own mini-split air conditioner — it runs independently from the rest of the house so the kids can keep it as cold as they want without affecting the bedrooms.
The Mid Bay Bridge toll is $4 each way. Keep a few dollars in the car or load your SunPass. It is absolutely worth the $8 round trip — it shaves a significant amount of time off the drive to Destin and Crystal Beach and is the most direct route from the house.
There are four boat launches within easy reach of the house. If you're trailering a boat, you're in good shape. Boat parking is on the right side of the house, 50-amp RV hookup is on the left.
The garage is not accessible to guests.
Three-night minimum stay. No pets. No parties. The neighbors are good people and we'd like to keep it that way.
While visiting Florida please be mindful we do have tropical bugs - mosquitoes, palmetto bugs, wood roaches, no seeums, etc. While we do actively treat for pests you may encounter a few critters during your stay. If the doors are left open, you will most likely allow these creatures in the home. As much as we’d love a critter free home sometimes it’s just not possible. Let us know if you’ve encountered anything that may alarm you!
The property will be cleaned prior to your arrival. Please note that we do not provide additional cleaning or housekeeping services during your stay. Detailed checkout instructions can be found in the StellarDweller reservation portal, which was sent to you on your booking date.
For your comfort and peace of mind, our property is equipped with a Minut Smart Home Sensor. This small device monitors noise levels, temperature, humidity, and motion near the entry to help ensure a safe, comfortable stay for everyone
We wanted to give you a quick heads-up regarding our front door camera. It functions like a Ring camera and is positioned only on the exterior of the unit. It does not record any activity inside the home - it’s solely for monitoring the entrance for security purposes.
